Canister Air Sampling

Sullivan Environmental Consulting provides GLP-compliant canister air sampling services using the EPA method TO-15. Based in the Washington, D.C., area, we offer sampling services throughout the United States. We are available to deploy air sampling canisters indoors and outdoors, including in contaminated environments, for the needs of our customers.

Canister Sampling

Canister sampling in compliance with EPA methods TO-15 and TO-15A is essential for legal cases and for evaluating toxic organic compounds. Sullivan Environmental can support canister sampling for legal air sample collection or to support worker exposure or any other need. Our services encompass developing protocols, sampling, and overseeing laboratory assessments.

This type of sampling can evaluate various air compounds. We frequently utilize air sampling tubes for specific targets or broader studies, but we employ canisters when clients prefer this sampling method. Due to their design and sample volume, tube sampling can be more cost-effective for more extensive studies. Sullivan Environmental offers both tube-based and canister-based sampling services.

Additionally, this type of data collection complies with the EPA method T0-15.  This method requires canister purging and positioning at breathing height. A timer is set to allow a designated air volume to enter the canister. When the canister is removed, a chain of custody form is filled out before sending it to a specialized laboratory for canister analysis. Once the lab completes the study, the results are sent to Sullivan Environmental, e.g., we relay the findings to the client. The data from the canister analysis is utilized in models like AERMOD to track the movement of substances captured in the canister, depending on the project specifics.  Call Sullivan Environmental for assistance in sampling for your project.  We offer our services nationwide.
